The Lecturer

A portrait of a Judge in the style of a Leslie Ward (aka ‘Spy’) cartoon from the Victorian magazine ‘Vanity Fair’. This was presented to the judge at his retirement party. This judge was particularly good at giving defendants a good dressing down when sentencing. He wouldn’t pull his punches and gave them a stern lecture about the impact of their crime on their victims, and what sort of future they would have should they continue down the paths they had chosen. A legend. Pencil sketch, scanned then painted digitally using a graphics tablet in Photoshop

Miserable Maurice

Miserable Maurice book cover design. I wanted to make it look like a vintage 60’s children’s book cover, a bit stained, a bit worn, a bit…miserable, just like Maurice. This is for a old College tutor of mine who is a retired, unpublished children’s book author. The story is a real romp too! Mel has a wicked sense of humour. Available as a Kindle download Miserable Maurice
